Responsibilities: 

• Partner with the CEO and Board of Directors to provide strategic financial insights and contribute to the overall  direction and growth of the company.  

• Provide financial and operational mentorship to the business as the company scales both strategically and cost effectively. 

• Lead and oversee all accounting and finance operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and  analysis. 

• Guide the development and implementation of modern financial systems, including ERP upgrades and digital tools to  enhance operational efficiency. 

• Develop financial plans, budgets and forecast in line with the company’s objectives and growth trajectory. • Produce forward looking, predictive models to provide insight into the organization’s operations and business plans and proactively monitor and report progress. 

• Drive operational process improvements across fiduciary asset management, treasury management, etc., ensuring  accuracy and efficiency. 

• Oversee the production and review of weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting metrics to be shared with the  executive team and Board of Directors. 

• Monitor key financial metrics and KPIs, identifying trends and areas for improvement. 

• Track comparable company financial metrics, valuations and major financing or acquisition events. 

• Ensure timely and accurate completion of necessary internal and external audits and reviews. 

• Manage and oversee all aspects of governance, compliance and regulatory requirements for the business, ensuring  strong internal controls and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. 

• Understand and review details of documents such as credit agreements, material purchase transaction documents  and legal contracts, etc. that may have financial implications to the business.  

• Build and lead high-performance accounting and finance teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration  and continuous improvement. 

• Optimize the company’s capital structure, including active management of lending relationships, debt covenants, and  financial forecasting in alignment with leverage strategy. 

• Oversee equity and incentive compensation programs, including the granting, tracking, and financial reporting of  incentive units, in coordination with HR. 

• Advise on M&A strategy and help with financial due diligence, negotiation, and integration activities to support  growth via acquisition. 

• Mentor and develop the team, providing guidance and opportunities for professional growth. 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, accounting, or business administration. MBA and/or CPA preferred. • Experience leading finance at a high-growth software company (VC of PE backed a plus); ready to step into a CFO role  or already operating at that level. 

• Ability and willingness to be hands-on building financial models.  

• 10+ years of demonstrable, progressive success as a financial leader. 

• Significant experience defining and operationalizing financial strategies.  

• Proven history of managing the financial and operational expansion of a business.  

• In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, compliance and audit processes.  

• Prior success in upgrading the quality of an organization’s financial infrastructure by improving budgeting, reporting  and internal controls.  

• Strategic thinker with exceptional technical skills, analytical ability, superb judgment and strong operational  understanding of business operations.  

• Willing to be on-site in the headquarters office in Research Triangle Park, NC.
