Position Overview:

As our IT Support Associate, you will be the go-to expert for all technology within our Research Triangle Park office. This is a dynamic, hands-on role designed for a recent graduate or someone 1-2 years out of school, who loves to solve tangible problems. You will ensure our team stays connected and productive by managing our Wi-Fi network, deploying mobile devices, and guaranteeing our conference rooms are always ready for action. Far beyond a typical help desk role, you will be a key player in our daily operations, blending IT expertise with facilities management.

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)

  • Office Network Oversight: Manage and monitor the office Wi-Fi network, ensuring fast and reliable connectivity for all employees and guests. You will troubleshoot connectivity issues and work with senior staff on network enhancements.
  • A/V & Conference Room Management: Become the expert for our meeting spaces. You will set up, test, and provide real-time support for all A/V equipment, including TVs, webcams, microphones, and video conferencing systems to ensure meetings run flawlessly.
  • Office Network Oversight: Manage and monitor the office Wi-Fi network, ensuring fast and reliable connectivity for all employees and guests. You will troubleshoot connectivity issues and work with senior staff on network enhancements.
  • Mobile Device Management (MDM): Configure, deploy, and manage our fleet of mobile devices (iPhones, iPads, Androids) using our MDM platform, ensuring they are secure and up-to-date.
  • Facilities Technology Integration: Oversee other critical office technology, including network printers and our building access control system (keycards/fobs). You'll be the first line of support for these systems.
  • Hands-On Employee Support: Provide in-person desktop, software, and hardware support for our on-site employees, resolving issues with a friendly and helpful attitude.
  • New Hire Onboarding: Manage the complete IT onboarding process for new employees, including workstation setup, account creation, and deployment of all necessary equipment.

Who You Are (Qualifications)

We are looking for candidates with strong foundational knowledge and a passion for hands-on, practical application of technology.

  • Education: Recently completed an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Technical Foundations:
    • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, especially Wi-Fi principles (802.11 standards, SSIDs, security).
    • Familiarity with mobile operating systems (iOS and Android).
    • A keen interest in and aptitude for A/V equipment and video conferencing technology.
    • Strong knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems (Windows 10/11 and macOS).
  • Core Skills:
    • Excellent hands-on problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet in a fast-paced environment.
    • A proactive and organized approach—you enjoy checking systems and preventing problems before they occur.
    • Strong customer service mindset with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
    • A genuine passion for technology and a strong desire to learn and master new systems.
