Role Overview:

As the Director of Marketing, you will be a strategic leader responsible for executing a marketing strategy that directly supports the sales organization and cultivates strong relationships with key accounts. Your primary focus will be on equipping the sales team with the collateral, content, and tools they need to succeed, driving deeper engagement within our target accounts through ABM strategies, educating the broader market, and establishing TruTechnologies as a recognized thought leader. This role demands a strong understanding of SaaS marketing, a focus on enabling sales effectiveness, and a proven ability to align marketing initiatives closely with sales goals. You will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and will work closely with sales and product leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales and Marketing Alignment (Primary Focus): Foster an exceptionally strong and collaborative relationship with the sales team. Develop joint goals, communication processes, and feedback mechanisms to ensure marketing efforts directly support sales needs and objectives. Regularly engage with sales leadership and individual reps to understand their challenges and provide tailored support.
  • Strategic Sales Enablement Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales enablement marketing strategy aligned with sales objectives and key account growth. This includes understanding sales processes, identifying content gaps, and creating resources that accelerate the sales cycle.
  • Influencer Marketing: Identify, engage, and manage relationships with key industry influencers to amplify TruTechnologies' message, expand market reach, and generate qualified leads in collaboration with the sales team.
  • Performance Measurement and Impact on Sales: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) focused on the impact of marketing activities on sales effectiveness, such as content utilization, account engagement, and sales cycle acceleration within target accounts. Track and report on these metrics to demonstrate the value of marketing to the sales organization.
  • Thought Leadership Development: Define and execute a strategy to establish TruTechnologies as a leading voice in the life sciences industry. This includes identifying key thought leadership themes, overseeing the creation of high-quality, sales-ready content (e.g., white papers, case studies, presentations, competitive analyses), and supporting sales in leveraging this content effectively.
  • Media Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive media strategy, including earned and paid media, to enhance brand visibility, and support thought leadership.
  • Account-Based Marketing (ABM): Design, implement, and manage an ABM strategy focused on empowering the sales team to engage and grow high-value accounts. This includes developing personalized content and resources for key accounts, facilitating account-specific marketing activities in collaboration with sales, and measuring the impact of ABM efforts on account growth.
  • Market Education Support: Develop and provide the sales team with educational materials and programs to effectively communicate the value of our solutions and address market challenges. This may include training materials, FAQs, competitive positioning documents, and participation in industry events alongside the sales team.
  • Sales Content and Tools Management: Oversee the creation, organization, and distribution of all sales-facing marketing content, ensuring it is easily accessible, up-to-date, and aligned with sales messaging. This includes managing content repositories and potentially implementing sales enablement platforms.
  • Budget Management (Sales Enablement Focus): Develop and manage the marketing budget with a primary focus on investments that directly support sales enablement initiatives and key account engagement.
  • Team Leadership and Development (Sales Enablement Focus): Build, mentor, and lead a marketing team focused on providing exceptional support to the sales organization. Foster a collaborative team environment, provide clear direction on sales enablement priorities, and support the professional growth of team members in this area.
  • Brand Management and Sales Messaging: Ensure consistent brand messaging and positioning in all sales-facing materials and communications. Work closely with sales to refine and adapt messaging for specific account needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive marketing experience within the SaaS industry, with a significant focus on sales enablement and account-based marketing.
  • Proven success in developing and executing marketing strategies that directly support and empower sales teams.
  • Strong understanding of sales processes, sales content needs, and effective sales enablement practices.
  • Experience in developing and implementing ABM strategies in close collaboration with sales.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with sales professionals at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand sales data and identify opportunities for marketing support.
  • Experience building and managing marketing teams focused on sales enablement.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Hubspot) and Adobe Creative Suite is highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create compelling sales-facing content and present information effectively to sales teams.
